Reinventing Design
A Southerner first and forever, Alabama native Jade O’Connor has lived all over the United States and the world. After exploring the hills of Tennessee and the cobblestone streets of Virginia, then enjoying the beaches of Florida and the wine country of California, she moved to Europe with her family at a formative age. It didn’t take long for her to fall in love with the region’s history and charm, and she spent the next 15 years studying, traveling, and working in Istanbul, Warsaw, London, Vienna, Budapest, Prague, and Moscow.
Jade studied Art History in Vienna, then began her career in advertising in the majestic capital of the Hapsburg Empire. While still in college, she became an account executive with global advertising giant Ogilvy & Mather, where she perfected her business skills—project management, meeting deadlines, and customer service.
With an eye for art, a family background in interior design, and a love of all things beautiful, Jade started her own interior design firm in 1999 in exciting Budapest, Hungary.
Less than a year later, the joint venture of AIG Global Real Estate & Lincoln Properties Inc. commissioned her to work with local Polish architects as an interior designer for the company’s Warsaw-based model homes in a 101-unit residential project, the first of its kind in modern Poland. Her model homes sold first and fast.
After 15 years exploring the world, Jade moved to Washington, D.C., where she completed a variety of residential and commercial projects in Virginia, Maryland, and D.C.
Jade’s Southern roots beckoned her home in 2008. Jade now manages projects across the South and around the world from her company’s home base of Athens, GA. From The Classic City, she is using her unique passion for modern, eclectic design, all influenced by her worldly adventures, to help create a new vision of the South.
